Coloring for digital painting class we're taking in our last semester. This is probly the best I've done, like, ever.

Inspired by Bikini Kill which I listened to a lot last semester, good angry music. I'd listened to bands influenced by them like Sleater Kinney, but it wasn't really till now that I gave them a listen, after all these years. I remember pressing my nose up against Kill Rock Stars Records' window in Olympia as a teen thinking how incredibly cool it'd be to work there.

This Christmas I went to Alberta for a super relaxing week of sketching, playing lots of Final Fantasy 3 on DS, and getting fat.

I don't usually do memes, but it's been cool seeing what others have been inspired by, and was a good exercise in scrounging around my inspiration folder finding what I felt had a direct impact on my visual style.

Phew, all done!

Finally! This took a good amount of the summer through a bit of trial and error, but I learned a pretty good deal.

The original idea was to put a modern spin on strategy rpgs like Final Fantasy Tactics where you have the male/female counterparts of healers, damage dealers, and magic users that tend to be situated in a medieval period. Years and years after its release Tactics is still easily one of my most favorites- from the challenge of creating the ultimate party to the pixel art to the concept art to the crazy convoluted story line, it was a rare and solid game.

Will have to put it on the backburner for now that school is starting up in only 2 weeks (yikes), but I definitely plan on doing more- environments, bad guys, and props.
